In the Chahai era, the jade must be worn on the ear.

In 1994, the archaeological excavation work of the Chahai site was basically completed. Archaeologists found 44 jade articles at the site, including 7 jade axe, 7 jade chisel, 7 jade, 13 jade, 6 jade, small One piece of jade ring, the rest is jade pieces.

So what are these jade used for?

Relatively speaking, jade axe and jade chisel are simpler. These jade blades are very sharp. The upper end of the jade and the blade have different degrees of chipping, and the jade tips are damaged. These phenomena indicate that they are all used and should be a hand-made tool that is well-formed and small. The focus of archaeological research is on the use of maize.

The ancients more than 2,500 years ago called the "semi-circular gapped jade" as a jade.

In order to study this jade, the late archaeologist Sun Shoudao of Liaoning Province used to search ancient books and found that the use of the recorded jade was significantly different from that when the Chahai site was unearthed.

According to the "Xunzi·Large" record: "There are absolutely people, and people are still ringing." Later generations commented that the ancients, the ministers were guilty, and they did not dare to leave the country for three years, but the ring was repayable. At that time, there was the meaning of breaking.

Since then, in the history books, there is also the meaning of decision. In the account of the "Historical Records" about the banquet, there are "the number of kings in Fan Zeng, and the three in the statue of Peiyu"; in the "White Tiger Tongyi" of the Eastern Han Dynasty, there are "the gentleman can break the ring. The ring is not Zhou".

Seven pieces of jade unearthed from the Chahai site, four of which were unearthed in the cultural accumulation layer, are difficult to judge their use because they are separated from the specific environment. The other one was unearthed in the No. 43 site. It is difficult to judge its use for the same reason, but just in this No. 43 site, archaeologists found an important burial custom of Chahai people - room burial and in the tomb Jade appeared in pairs.

In the "Excavation Report of the Chahai - Neolithic Age Settlement Site" edited by researcher, former captain of the provincial archaeological team, director of the Provincial Archaeological Society, and member of the Academic Committee of the Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, detailed records of archaeological personnel excavating this The situation of a one-bedroom tomb. According to the book, the No. 43 site was placed in the head of the Chahai people in pairs. Coincidentally, afterwards, a pair of jade was unearthed in the tombs of the Xinglongtun ruins of the Aohan Banner in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, just in the ears of the head of the deceased.

Sun Shoudao inferred that during the life of Chahai people, the use of jade was fundamentally different from the meaning given by future generations. At that time, jade was an earring. The reason why jade has an opening is originally used to clip it on the earlobe.

In order to verify this inference, Sun Shoudao also verified at the archaeological site, and it was enough to wear it on a woman's ear. Sun Shoudao described the effect like this: "Black hair, yellow skin, white ears, beautiful and moving."

Therefore, Sun Shoudao believes that Cha Haiyu made earrings as early as 8000 years ago. It is the earliest ear of the world and the ancestor of earrings.

Chahai or a professional jade or jade

Xin Yan said: "The significance of the discovery of the jade in the Chahai site should be summarized more accurately by the three sentences of Professor Su Bingqi. The jade unearthed from the Chahai site solves three important problems in the history of jade development. Understanding, the second is the processing of jade, and the third is the use of jade."

The 44 pieces of jade unearthed from the Chahai site are milky white, light green and yellow wax in color. Among them, milky white is the main body, the quantity is large, and it is widely used, while the pale green and yellow waxy jade are mostly made of jade, jade tube and small jade ring. These jade articles have been identified, all of which are nephrite and actinolite nephrite. The so-called tremolite and actinite type nephrite are the jade species that are familiar to people, such as Hetian jade and jade jade in jade jade.

Xin Yan said: "These phenomena reflect that Chahai people have a strong ability to recognize jade." That is to say, despite the scarcity of jade in nature and the development of human history to the Chahai people, people already have the distinction between true jade. The ability with stones.

Not only that, Chahai people also mastered the more skilled jade processing methods. Among the jade articles unearthed at the Chahai site, such as jade and jade, the obvious cutting marks can be seen on the objects. After professional identification research, it was found that Chahai people used jade sand and water to cut and cut materials. The jade material is divided so that in the process of jade processing, Chahai people also master the more skilled honing, drilling and polishing techniques.

Taking the drilling as an example, the Chahai people used the drilling method for the drilling of the jade, that is, grinding and drilling at the same time on both sides of the jade, which is both regular and has a high success rate. A special method is adopted for the polishing of the jade surface. The surface finish of the jade is very high, and the jade shape produced is simple, compact and practical. Therefore, some experts believe that there are already professional jade workers in Chahai people.

Of course, in the era of Chahai people, jade is still a precious scarce item, not only because compared with other unearthed cultural relics, the amount of jade unearthed is relatively small, and the jade itself reveals the information.

According to reports, the jade articles unearthed at the Chahai site have shown obvious "immersion". Jade impregnation is a relatively special phenomenon, characterized in that the surface of jade exhibits a particularly smooth and moisturizing effect different from the original ore because of its long-term contact with oil. These impregnated jade artifacts unearthed from the Chahai site tell the posterity that their owners often put jade in their hands to play, and their cherished feelings can be seen.

Unexplained fluorescence twice over the site

There are also many interesting things in the archaeological process.

In August 1988, due to the continuous progress in the excavation of the Chahai site, the excavation area expanded rapidly.

At night, although the archaeological team was exhausted after a hard day, on that hot summer night, there was no TV to pass the time, and there was no entertainment to participate. The players spent most of their time sitting around the farmhouse. In the courtyard, a cup of black tea, a fan, chat and cool down.

Hu Jian, curator and researcher of Fuxin City Museum, recalled that at about 9 o'clock in the evening, I didn't know who was shouting outside the wall of the small courtyard: "Look, what is the ruins?"

The archaeological team in the yard stood up and looked in the direction of the site. Hu Jian said: "The location of the site is higher than that of the village. There is no tall building in the village. You can see it by looking up."

I saw a luminous column-like object over the ruins. It looked like a fluorescent lamp, and it was surrounded by a silver aura. As they observed, the light column above the site slowly rose to the sky. As the light cylinder rose, the aura slowly spread, and finally the shape of the rainbow illumined half the sky.

Just when people were amazed, it seemed as if they were frightened. The pigs, dogs and other livestock in the village were screaming...

After about ten minutes, the illuminator continued to rise, the light color became lighter and lighter, and it felt like a cloud blown away by the wind, quietly going away, and finally disappearing into the night.

After the event, the fellows all looked for archaeological members to explore. Of course, the archaeologists were speechless.

Hu Jian said: "After about half a month, this phenomenon reappears." At the same time in the night, the same place, the same shape. This time, people calmed down a lot.

At that time, the Chahai site had just been unearthed from jade. In the face of such inquiries, some people simply said, "That is the light from the jade!"
