In a significant move for China's knitting industry, the "Zheng Min Thai Knitwear (Underwear) Fund" was officially established during a signing ceremony held recently at An Lifang Shandong Industrial Park. This event marked a remarkable addition to the 2009 Chinese textile industry calendar, bringing a fresh wave of momentum and innovation.
The fund was generously donated by Mr. Zheng Mintai, Chairman of Embry Holdings Co., Ltd., who contributed 10 million yuan. This is the largest single donation ever received by the Textile Light Technology Education Foundation, highlighting his strong commitment to advancing the textile sector through education and research.
Notable attendees included Xu Kunyuan, Vice President of the China Textile Industry Association and Chairman of the Textile Light Technology Education Foundation; Xu Jianyuan, Secretary-General of the China Textile Industry Association; Yang Jichao, Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the China Knitting Industry Association; Yang Shibin, President of the China Textile Construction Planning Institute; Li Jincai, Wei Kan, General Secretary of the Textile Science and Technology Education Foundation; Zhao Chuanxiang, Director of the Shandong Textile Industry Office, and many other key figures in the industry.
Mr. Zheng Mintai, along with Yue Ming Zhu, Executive Director of Embry Holdings Limited, and Cheng Bi Hao, Executive Director and CEO, traveled from Hong Kong specifically for the ceremony. At the event, Xu Kunyuan and Zheng Mintai signed the official donation agreement, symbolizing a strong partnership between the private sector and the textile community.
Xu Kunyuan praised Zheng Mintai’s dedication to public welfare, emphasizing that the Textile Light Technology Education Foundation aims to drive China’s progress toward becoming a global textile power through technological advancement and talent development.
