Asia Pacific Region will grow into the largest textile fiber market

Consumption of global textiles is estimated to increase at an average rate of 4% per annum to reach 87 million tons by 2020. This increase may boost demand for textile fibers. Asia Pacific will become the largest market for textile materials, followed by Europe.

China is the world's largest producer and consumer of textile fibers. China is a leader in the export of filament yarns, polyester filament yarns, polyester staple fibers, viscose fibers and viscose staple fibers.

The global price forecast for all textile fibers will increase in 2011. The use of textile fibers in home furnishings is increasing due to their intrinsic performance. The synthetic fiber market is expected to grow globally, especially in developing countries.
